As of today this site will no longer be maintained, and will soon be deleted.

This includes the forums and all current users and their data.

However, this is not the end of Lets Play Gaming. Instead LPG is changing into something a lot different.

Changes:

First of all we are thinking of a name change.  Why? Someone else has since stolen the name Lets Play Gaming since we started this project, and has quite a big following now.  Since our site was largely inactive we don't mind so much. We would like something a little different anyway to better characterize the new goal of our new site.

Our site address will be changed to http://letsplay.unboundedmusic.com/   However, once and if we change the name of our site we will be updating the address to something more permanent. To always find the current site address please visit http://www.unboundedmusic.com/ and look under the subsidiaries menu at the top of the site.  Note that the name may change anytime even in the next few minutes.

Our new site will have several new focuses.

  1. We will be posting gaming blog entries as we play through games. This will be used as a sort of step by step review and help system.
  2. Guides of all types can be posted with approval.
  3. We will have a forum for discussion that we plan to link into the site somewhat.
  4. Users will be able to have a gaming oriented user profile to host their gamer ids.
  5. The site will also have a dedicated news feed section that pulls rss feeds from other gaming sites.

The new site will be ran as such.

  1. Mainly the site will be run as a blog type system using WordPress.
  2. Categories and tags will be used to separate everything posted.
  3. We will be trying to set up a better user system.

The new plans seem somewhat the same as the ones did here to start with. However, the plans for this site took a different direction that we didn't like as much as we thought we would.  For this reason we are hoping this fresh restart will get the ball rolling for Lets Play Gaming.

Goodbye from this site.

Site - Site Updates

Things have been going rough for quite a few months now.  Due to this I've not been able to do any sort of work on any of the sites or anything.

However, all that seems to be changing somewhat. I will begin work on an updated site here very soon.

I've changed my mind about what I want in the site again. Right now I plan on having forums, guides, reviews, and other game information.  I do not plan on keeping the whole clan idea though.  I'm still not sure as to weather or not I will be updating the site to a new system or using this one. However, whatever I do I will decide when it's time to work on it.

If we do use this system I will be deleting almost everything here and starting over from scratch.

Mainly we want this to be a community site with game information.  We will strive to be different from the other gaming community sites you find out there now days though.

I have to set up a work schedule, and although this site will probably be the last on the list I should be able to finish up mostly everything by next month sometime.

We've posted about this somewhat before, but decided we needed to make an official notice post about what's going on.

The site you see now is the product of our original ideas for the site.  However, now we are expanding our overall business again to include subsidiaries, such as this site, DS Comics, the Writers Network, and FIMusic. Due to this re-expansion we have been completely re-planning this site as well as all of the old versions of the other sites.  What you can expect from this site is a lot of changes of content and behind the scene methods.  We currently use a Joomla install for the site, and will most likely be keeping it that way. However, we are going to locally test a WordPress version of the site to see if it will benefit the overall ideas. Most likely we will be keeping Joomla as it seems to be the best option to use with our web hosting service.

All of the post and information on the current site will be taken off or revamped to fit the new site ideas.  This revamp will include the forum as well.

Until we start the revamping process we will leave the site exactly the way it is.  However, upon starting we will most likely be displaying a message saying the site is currently offline.  If you do happen to visit the site while we are doing live tests or updates we will have this Notice still up, but with an added note at the top letting you know the sites not fully open.

We are not completely sure when these updates may happen.  We are still in the planning process, which may take a while.  We want to get things done right instead of blindly trying to create a "cool" gaming community again.

If you would like to let us know what you'd like to see on the new site please drop us a message in our contact page at http://www.unboundedmusic.com/contact/

For now that is all, and thank you for your patients.

Site - Site Updates
Written by Michael (Administrator)

We have finally decided on how to run the site somewhat. I'll try to list our ideas below, but some of it's hard to explain.

  1. Lets Play Gaming Network will be built off of two things.  1: A gaming community to discuss anything gaming, meet new gaming friends, and keep in touch.  2: Clans and any other aspect of playing games together.
  2. Mostly all communications will be done via the forum.
  3. Once a clan or group is established they will have a page on the site for others to see, as well as a private section of the forum.
  4. Reviews, cheats, guides, and information of any type for games can be submitted to the forum by users of the site.  As long as the content abides by our rules we will either post it to the site itself or we will post a link to the content via a page on the site just for that game.
  5. Users will be able to request games that need to be added to the forum as well.

There are two more things I'd like to discuss about the site now.

First, this site will be community driven.  The members of our community are asked to spread news about the site to their gaming friends.  Once we have enough community members we will start looking for higher level users.  Some users will be moderators on the forums, while some will have the ability to help with forum additions.  We also plan to open a new calendar system that will let users post release dates for games and dlc.  Also, we will post links to as many different video game sites out there with as much information on each of them as we can.  This way you'll hopefully be able to find anything you want to know about a game easily.

Second, our updates may be slow to start with, because we have to rebuild the site somewhat.  However, once it gets going there should be no problem keeping it up to speed.  This is actually the first I've mentioned this to anyone no included in Unbounded Productions, but U.P. will be undergoing another set of changes soon.  To find out more about that keep a check on the U.P. site at unboundedmusic.com.  These changes will allow a lot of extra time for all of the U.P. sub-sites.  I will be working on posting about that update here in a few minutes.

We may even start the updates here later today.  It all just depends on how things go.  I have a lot on my plate to day as it is, but hopefully can spare a little time for this.

Edit:

One more update.  To help out with site structure we may opt to move the site to http://www.unboundedmusic.com/letsplay/. The site currently resides at http://www.unboundedmusic.com/sites/letsplay/, which will have a redirect to the new address if we change it.  Also letsplay.go.to and letsplay.unboundedmusic.com will both be updated to point to the correct address if and when this happens.

If for some reason we change from a Joomla install to something that can handle a sub-domain correctly we will just be using the letsplay.unboundedmusic.com address.

Due to several health issues my band has had to exit the studio.  My business, Unbounded Music, has underwent some changes due to these health changes as well.  First we have changed our name and are now Unbounded Productions, and we have changed a lot of the business to be based on arts.  Also, due to these health issues, I will have more time to work on this site in the very near future.  Unbounded Productions will officially run this site, an online comics site, an online writers guild of sorts, and a online musical knowledge center.

Today I'm working on the main site, which I actually just published the new updates to.  Next I will be working on our sub-company Dark Soul Comics.  The main business and DS Comics will be taking top priority of all of our sites for now.  When the DS Comics site is live I will finally be able to re-think and redo this site.  We want to be more of a gaming community than just another codes and faqs based site.  Hopefully we will accomplish this in the near future.

The musical knowledge site is one of our oldest ideas.  The official name is The Free Institution of Music, but we shorten it to F. I. Music whenever we talk about it.  We are going to be looking into site software like wikipedia uses for FIM, and hope that it takes off.  FIM was originally to be scratched completely in this new iteration of Unbounded Productions, but I decided last minute to give it one more go.  The first version of FIM done much better than any of the later versions.  We don't know why, but we plan to get it back to being at least as popular as it once was.

Finally the writers guild site is another old site as well that was called The Writers Network.  We actually had this site up and running well, but it was deleted without notice.  There was never any details revealed to us as to why this happened.  The good thing about the writers network is that we still have the old site code which still seems to work fine.  We may have to tweak it a little, but I'm sure it'll be up and running again in no time.

The great thing is that we can now host all of our sites on our own domain.  But what does this have to do with LP Gaming? Well, as soon as the site is redone and the other site ideas are implemented we are hoping the site will boom.  Since we will be running a network of sites, or services if you want to call them that, we think people will check out the other sites.  That would lead to more and more people coming in.  The more people that comes into our online communities the better, because a lot of content will be user submitted.  It takes a lot less time to skim over a users submission than to create it yourself.  That's why we've wanted the site to be built on a community since the start.

I hope I didn't lose you while trying to explain that. Lastly I must ask that anyone that is visiting this site sign up on our forum and leave us a message about what you want to see put into the site.

Anyway, I need to get back to work on the main site and start figuring out DS Comics.
